To the east of the Jerusalem city walls is the Mount of Olives, offering one of the best views of the city below.
To the east of the city walls, beyond the Kidron Valley, is the picturesque Mount of Olives. From here you can see the Eastern Gate in the distance, in a breathtaking view of the city. As you descend this mount, you can walk the path down to the ancient olive tree groves of the Garden of Gethsemane. Zechariah 14:4 declares that at the return of the Lord this relatively small but enormously significant area of land will come into full view once again, as “in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east.”
