Jaffa
Tour > Jaffa
This seaport town has beautiful views of the Mediterranean as well as a rich biblical history.
The Mediterranean seaport town of Jaffa (or Joppa), just a few short miles from downtown Tel Aviv, is where Jonah boarded a ship going to Tarshish (Jonah 1:3), where building materials for the Temple arrived from Tyre (2 Chronicles 2:16), and also where Peter saw a vision on rooftop of Simon the Tanner?s House (Acts 10). Convinced by the message he received from God, Peter obeyed and went to the house of Cornelius the Gentile in Caesarea, where the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Gentiles, preparing the way for non-Jews worldwide to be brought into the blessings of God?s covenant with Israel.
